New one design from Nautor Swan

Nautor Swan has launched its ClubSwan 28, designed to take part in one design yacht races worldwide.

The new racing yacht has been crafted by Juan Kouyoumdjian to be crewed by four or five sailors and to be simple to sail with features including a carbon mast and no backstay.

The yacht has been designed for optimal performance in varied conditions, particularly medium/light winds.

The deck layout prioritises safety and efficiency, featuring a clean cockpit. A full kite retrieve system, complete with a sliding hatch on the bow, enhances ease of operation during races.

A lifting keel enables the ClubSwan 28 to be trailered and rigged in a few hours.

The sail plan consists of a mainsail, jib, AP kite, and reaching kite.

The rig concept has been designed so that a single movement allows rig adjustment through a straightforward hydraulic system.

Mast bend and headstay tension are synchronised without the need for a backstay, thanks to the new shroud configuration.

“Our goal was to create a vessel that prioritises manageability and ease of sailing over pushing the boundaries of absolute performance,” said Federico Michetti, head of sports activities and product manager.

The ClubSwan 28 will make its debut in September at the 22nd edition of the Rolex Swan Cup.

Following the event, the fleet will reconvene at the end of October for an event dedicated to this new model: the ClubSwan Invitational Sardinia Challenge, to be held at the Marina di Villasimius in Sardinia.
