£850,000 investment for James Watt Dock Marina

Marina Projects has been appointed by Scotland’s James Watt Marina to develop a new purpose-built operations building and family space, an investment of more than £850,000.

The development will sit within a prominent location within the marina, has been designed with customer service leading the key design considerations and to generate maximum future value from the marina building upon completion.

The 400m2 building will become a central entrance to James Watt Marina and will be developed to provide an open plan customer foyer and reception.

There will also be space for marine trades as well as a new food and beverage offering.

The building will also be used for marina operations and management offices, as well as proving meeting room space overlooking the marina that will also be fully serviced and available for hire.

The concept plans developed by Marina Projects take into account site constraints and operational requirements, as well as customer and market demand for marine trades.

“We have been working with Marina Projects Ltd to develop a marina office building that provides the very best services and facilities to the marina sector on the Clyde,” said Brian Lavalette, property director for Scotland at Peel Waters – joint venture partners in James Watt Dock LLP.

“This new building complements our vision for developing a fully serviced marine leisure destination and marks the next stage in the regeneration of the historic James Watt Docks.”

Working in partnership with Midbrook Enterprises, Marina Projects are set to deliver the building by autumn 2024.

“This is an exciting time at James Watt Dock Marina, especially for our berth holders, and together with the marina team we are all looking forward to the grand opening later this year,” said Graeme Galbraith marina manager.

The marina offers 200 fully serviced pontoon berths for craft 7m to 100+m, within a historic dock setting and full deep-water access with a range of marina facilities.
