Maritime recruitment platform Yotspot has added dedicated Shorebased and Estate accounts, widening its service beyond onboard yacht crew positions.
The Southampton-based business says its platform has more than 180,000 members and carries close to 30,000 roles each year.
The expansion gives marine businesses, private estates, family offices and specialist recruiters access to the same candidate community.
Yotspot’s Shorebased section covers roles in yacht and fleet management, brokerage, operations, technical services, project management, recruitment, finance, marketing, compliance, sales and executive leadership.
The Estate segment is intended for private households, estates, family offices and staffing agencies recruiting for management, hospitality and other private-service positions.
The company said the move reflects established career paths among superyacht crew. Captains and engineers frequently move into management and technical posts, while chefs, stewardesses and hospitality professionals can transfer their experience to private residences and estates.
Talent evolution
“The industry’s talent doesn’t disappear when people step ashore – it evolves,” said Adam West, client partner at Yotspot.
“If we have supported someone throughout their career onboard, why should that relationship end simply because they decide it is time to move ashore?”
Yotspot cited the experience of former yacht stewardess Emily, who moved into a front-of-house management position at Loyton Lodge in Devon before returning to the platform as an employer.
“Coming from yachting, I wanted people who shared that same culture and attitude towards hard work,” she said.
“We had some great candidates come through, the filtering process was really easy, and we successfully filled one of our seasonal positions through Yotspot.”
Yotspot launched in 2010. Its existing Yacht account will continue to support onboard recruitment, while jobseekers can use one profile to view yacht, shoreside and estate vacancies.
