Tideman Boats has selected twin OXE225 diesel outboard engines to power a Dutch Government Authority order for several of its Caribbean Support Crafts.
The HDPE Landing Crafts 1200 vessels will each be powered by the twin OXE225 engines and manufactured by Netherlands based-Tideman Boats.
The contract follows a long-standing relationship between OXE Marine and Tideman Boats, which has delivered several vessels to a range of customers.
The OXE225, rated at 225hp, delivers 670 Nm of torque and is the highest commercial duty rated engine in the OXE300 platform.
The engine’s belt-driven transmission has been engineered to withstand the sustained loads of commercial and government operations.
A 180-amp alternator ensures continuous power supply for onboard systems and mission-critical equipment.
Engine performance
The engine is supported by OXE Connect, OXE Marine’s remote monitoring system, which enables operators to track engine performance and health in real time.
“The OXE225 was the natural choice,” explained Bruno Tideman, CEO, Tideman Boats.
“OXE has been a trusted diesel outboard supplier to Tideman for years and the high torque output and fuel efficiency of their engines are exactly what our customers need — operators running vessels day after day in locations where downtime is simply not an option.”
Paul Frick, CEO, OXE Marine, added: “Tideman’s HDPE hulls and OXE propulsion have proven time and again to be a winning combination for operators in demanding environments.
“This Dutch government programme is a natural next step for that partnership.”
