Suntex Marinas acquires Californian marina

Suntex Marinas has expanded its portfolio in California with the acquisition of Kinship Marina in Ventura.

The full-service marina accommodates a range of boaters with wet slips, secure dry storage options on-site partnerships and amenities.

Facilities on site include a restaurant, full-service boatyard providing repair, refits, paint, metal work and marine mechanics, a fuel dock and waterfront market providing gas, diesel, live bait, tackle and provisions and a sportfishing charter operation.

“We are incredibly excited to establish a presence in Ventura Harbor and to invest in elevating Kinship Marina into a true best-in-class coastal destination,” said Michael Warntjes, senior vice president of operations for Suntex Marinas.

“The harbour’s unique character and strategic location create a strong foundation for us to enhance the asset through thoughtful redevelopment and deliver an exceptional experience for both recreational and commercial vessel customers.”

Long-term plans

Tom Derecktor, partner for Kinship Marina and Derecktor Ventura Boatyard, added: “Kinship Marina has long been a special part of the Ventura boating community, and we are excited to see it jump to the highest level with Suntex.

“Their commitment to exceptional customer experiences, operational excellence and first-class facilities will build upon the strong foundation established at the marina.

As part of its long-term plans for the property, Suntex intends to redevelop the marina’s wet slips, enhancing marina infrastructure, vessel accommodations and the overall customer experience.

The acquisition was carried out in partnership with Centerbridge Partners and its affiliates.
