Dörries Yachts has agreed a lease for new construction facilities within the Maritime Industry and Business Park Volkswerft Stralsund in Germany.
The agreement will combine Dörries Yachts’ superyacht experience with one of Northern Germany’s established maritime industrial hubs.
The 34-hectare Volkswerft Stralsund site is home to around 20 companies, with facilities including extensive hall space, heavy-lift capabilities, direct water access and a highly skilled regional workforce.
The site was acquired by the Stralsund city officials in 2022 and the council has since been working to develop it into a maritime industrial and commercial park.
Ambitious projects
The offers around 97,000sqm of hall space, 32,000sqm of equipped office space and 24,00sqm of equipped workshop space. There is also road, rail and water access.
“Stralsund offers exactly the kind of environment we were looking for,” explained Henning Dörries, CEO of Dörries Yachts.
“This is more than simply additional space, it is about creating the right environment to deliver ambitious projects efficiently and effectively.”
He continued: “The combination of infrastructure, expertise and maritime heritage available in Stralsund makes it a natural fit for our future plans.”
And he explained that the collaboration is built on capability, infrastructure and maritime heritage.
The collaboration is set to create new opportunities for refits, conversions and new build projects.
Dörries Yachts dates back to 1988 with the opening of an an engineering office in Bremen, Northern Germany by Werner Dörries
Dörries Yachts was founded in 2013, focusing on new build and yacht conversion projects.
