Swedish electric boat company unveils future plans

Electric boat company ESEA has unveiled further plans for its first model, the F800, an all electric day cruiser.

The company, which completed a seed funding round in January 2026, says its strategy centres on a modular product and manufacturing architecture which will enable scalable production across different markets while ensuring consistent quality.

Naval architecture for the F800 is from Thorne Yacht Design, drawing on superyacht design, with a design format suited to everyday use.

The vessel, which is built in Sweden, has been developed as an integrated platform, combining an efficient hull design with a quiet, low vibration ride and responsive handling.

A steerable 270 degree rotational pod drive provides easy manoeuvrability, while onboard systems enhance usability.

Features such as regenerative charging and intelligent energy monitoring are incorporated in a Smart Boat System.

Integrated approach

“We founded ESEA with the belief that boating should feel simple, intuitive and enjoyable,” explained co-founder and director Dee Du.

“With the F800, we have taken a fully integrated approach, bringing together propulsion, controls and onboard systems into a single, cohesive design that creates a more seamless and responsive experience on the water.”

The company is also planning to expand its portfolio with a 6-metre model, the F600, with the desire to make electric boating more accessible to a broader market segment.

The latest model features a foam-wrapped hull to reduce impact and maintenance and features a deep cockpit and versatile deck.

With the new models, ESEA is positioning itself to play a key role in the growing electric boat market.
