The recreational boating market in Spain reports an 8.8% decrease in new boat registrations compared to the same month in 2025.

According to data from the Recreational Boating Market Report (January 2026), prepared by ANEN based on records provided by the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine, there were 176 new registrations in January 2026 (including jet skis).

In the 6-to-8-metre segment there was a decline of 40%, with 21 registrations representing nearly 12% of market share.

Motorboats continue to dominate

On the positive side, registrations of boats between 8 and 12 metres grew, with 21 units, also representing a market share of almost 12%. The 12-16 metre segment added four registrations, just over 2% of the market.

There were nine registrations of boats over 16 metres (5.1% market share), eight more than in January 2025.

Motorboats continued to dominate in terms of market share with 80 registrations (45.5%), though this was a 5.9% decrease compared to January 2025.

Inflatable boats once again stand out as the most positive segment, with 38 registrations (21.6% market share) and a 22.6% increase in registrations compared to January 2026.

Jet ski registrations in the period totalled 28, a 36.4% drop in registrations, while semi-rigid inflatable boats reached 21 registrations, a 5% increase. Sailing boat registrations remained stable with 8 registrations.
