Three luxury yachts have sunk following a fire at British Columbia’s Vancouver Island on February 1.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at Van Isle Marina in Sidney involving the three 65 – 70ft power yachts but despite extensive emergency response efforts, the vessels were lost and subsequently sank.
Fire crews and other emergency service personnel were able to keep the fire away from nearby vessels until they could be moved.
No-one was injured and no-one was on board the boats that sank.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our marina community as this work continues.
