Marine technology cluster Bretagne Sailing Valley and The Foiling Organization have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen international collaboration in foiling innovation, industrial development, and research.
The partnership will support joint initiatives including research projects, industrial collaborations, and a Foiling industry trade visit to Bretagne in 2026.
The MoU outlines a broad framework for cooperation to include the organisation of joint seminars, workshops, and conferences on foiling design, materials, and safety.
It also includes coordinating participation in major trade fairs and fostering research partnerships among universities, shipyards, and technology centres.
The agreement also foresees the creation of a Foiling Cluster – by The Foiling Organization, aimed at recognising the region as a global leader in foiling technology.
The foiling industry is growing rapidly and will play a central role in the blue economy so relevant for Brittany.

“The foiling industry is growing rapidly and will play a central role in the blue economy that is so relevant for Brittany,” said Arnaud Cacquevel, chef de mission Nautisme et Voiles of Bretagne Sailing Valley.
“Therefore, we look forward to building a long-term working relationship with The Foiling Organization.”
And he said the partnership embodied a shared desire to place Brittany at the heart of the maritime revolution, through accelerating technology transfers and strengthening synergies between global players.
Future marine industry
“Working with Bretagne Sailing Valley is a natural step in extending The Foiling Organization’s global framework across key marine innovation hubs,” said Luca Rizzotti, president of The Foiling Organization.
“Together we are building the common language of the future marine industry — one that connects performance, technology, and sustainability under a shared vision.”
