Premier Marinas acquires Boatfolk

The UK’s Premier Marinas has acquired the Boatfolk marina group.

The acquisition, funded through investment provided by Premier Marina’s long-term owners Wellcome, has created a combined portfolio of 22 UK locations.

It makes the group the UK’s largest marina operator.

Premier Marinas says Boatfolk will continue to operate largely unchanged as plans are developed to align the businesses over the coming months.

“Boatfolk’s owners have been seeking new ownership for some time, and I’m delighted to confirm the conclusion of that process,” said Pete Bradshaw, chief executive of Premier Marinas.

In Boatfolk, we see a fantastic portfolio of marinas in great locations.

“In Boatfolk, we see a fantastic portfolio of marinas in great locations, a talented team, and a customer ethos that resonates with that of Premier Marinas.

“We have much in common, and my team looks forward to working with our new colleagues to unlock the benefits for all our customers.”

Based on the Hamble River at Lower Swanwick, Premier Marinas is the owner and operator of a portfolio of 11 UK locations across the South Coast.

The marinas provide marina and dry stack berthing facilities and full-service boatyards.

Premier Marinas is wholly owned by Wellcome, a global charitable foundation.

Boatfolk operates a portfolio of 11 UK locations around the country including in Wales, Bristol, Scotland and the South Coast.
